The Cardiff city football club also known as the Blubirds is one of the football clubs in the Premier league. The team was established in 1899 and the club did very well in its beginning years against its opponents. The great players like Neil Alexander, Colin Baker and Gary Bell was excellent along with the list of other exceptional players. The club was brilliant in bending the ball in the fields of Ninian Park, the home of Cardiff football.
To the fans and supporters of Cardiff city football club, the team is of immense joy and pride. They cry at a lost match and party on their victory. The game of football and the club in not just a club but the life line of the city of Cardiff. The club and its players are a source of inspiration of the children of Cardiff. It will be difficult to forget the exhilarating match between Arsenal in 1927 take that took premier league cup outside England for the first time. The hero that brought glory to the club and the Welsh people was Hughie Ferguson at the 74th minute into the game.
The glorious days are past gone and the present situation paints a different story. The club seems to have gone into several ups and downs. Some were of the view that the team was wasting money when they last lost the in 2008-2009. Comments like “we are wasting our money taming maggots” and “we could do better than that” were said. Although some praised their footballers and defended that they did their best, perhaps better luck next time.
The club in recent times has played down its future matchers and stars like Eddie Johnson with number 9 shirt. However there is much to be skeptical about especially about the fees for most talented players.
As the departure of Darren Purse and rumors of Roger Johnson being tossed to other teams in the premier league, eyes are now grained on Gabor Gyepes, the international player from Hungary to propel Cardiff city once again in the top spot.
