There are more than 300,000,000 people in the United States and the world population is quickly approaching 7 billion. Our country makes up just 5% of the entire global population, even less. The days of US athletic dominance may soon come to an end for this reason, unless the country wakes up from complacency and positions itself or the future.

There are only four more matches to go before the Confederations Cup draws to a close in South Africa on Sunday. After a hectic week of group stage football, the four semi finalists have been decided. Spain, the USA, South Africa and Brazil will be the teams trying to reach the final this weekend.

One more week of excitement remains in the Confederations Cup before the football tournament concludes. The competition has reached its semi final stage after the exciting group rounds. Apart from the hosts South Africa who qualified by the skin of their teeth, the other three teams will be the United States, Brazil and Spain.
