Since 1884, Portman Road has long been the home stadium for Ipswich Town F.C. who at present compete in the Championship in England. It’s a all-seater stadium that has a capacity of 30,031 and lies in the centre of Ipswich, simply two or three hundred metres from the railway station which is on the mainline to London.

On the outbreak of World War I in 1914, most believed it would be concluded by Christmas. Patriotic teenage men were keen to join the army as soon as possible as they presumed they would miss out on the action. However, history has confirmed that their confidence was misdirected as the war would not finish right up until 1918. The German advance was stopped at the 1st Battle of Marne and the drive for the sea started out as the Allies and Germans both dug in. It was the start of the trench warfare of the Western Front.

Everyone will no doubt have their favorite type of player and you will usually find more than one aspect of the game that is exciting. A successful soccer player should have some form of skill in terms of positioning, handling of the ball, set pieces, passing and shooting.

Every generation of football sees the emergence and prevalence of a few elite quarterbacks. In the 80s and 90s, we saw the likes of Montana, Elway, Marino, and Aikman dominating the sport. Currently, quarterbacks like Manning, Favre, Brady, and Brees are clearly the best in the game.

Thierry Henry is free at last! Henry faced a ton of criticism for his handle ball versus Ireland during their World Cup qualifying match. This hand ball led to the goal that France scored against Ireland, which allowed France to advance to the World Cup and which sent Ireland home, ending their hopes of a trip to South Africa.

The 08’s season for the Seattle Seahawks was an utter disappointment finishing 4-12. The Seahawks caught the injury bug and no one was able to stay healthy, thus the bad record.
