The announcement took the world of football by storm when it was released that Darren Bent had put in a transfer request to quite as Sunderland striker and join Aston Villa. While Midlands is struggling badly, it has tabled a proposal of 18 million which they are ready to raise up to 24 million if needed. Villa is at a critical condition where it can be kicked out of the Premier League anytime if Wolves gain on them. Villa is at 18th position with Wolves just 5 more goals away from them.

Sir Alex Ferguson earlier revealed Wayne Rooney’s intentions to quit Manchester United. Ferguson claimed to be “shocked” by Rooney’s refusal to sign a new contract and does not understand the reasons for his departure. His current deal is due to finish at the end of the 2011/2012 campaign.

Mounir El Hamdaoui is a Dutch player of Moroccan descent (he plays in the national team of Morocco). Yesterday evening he was playing with his Dutch team Ajax Amsterdam against Heerenveen and displayed some magic. He scored two goals that are shown everywhere right now, because they are awesome! Two beauties in the same match! The only other player that I have seen in my days that scored even three of those in one match, was legendary Dutch international Dennis Bergkamp (who played in London with Arsenal for a long time).

The Premier League is a highly successful tournament, attracting high levels of sponsorship and helping to raise the international reputation of English football. Leicester boys, Kasabian are hugely popular, particularly amongst the footballing crowd as their songs have been used in many football ad campaigns, highlights and match promotions. Their indie-rock-electro sound seems to strike a chord with the tempo of football and the fans it attracts; this is why they have signed a three year deal with the Barclays premier league.
