Reminding the fans and public of the glory days of the Manchester United Football Shirt is very important and this shirt does just that. A retro look and feel is demonstrated by the stripe on the sleeve and the flared collar. Black socks and white shorts compliment the classic red top that gives the team it’s nickname the Red Devils.

On the outbreak of World War I in 1914, most believed it would be concluded by Christmas. Patriotic teenage men were keen to join the army as soon as possible as they presumed they would miss out on the action. However, history has confirmed that their confidence was misdirected as the war would not finish right up until 1918. The German advance was stopped at the 1st Battle of Marne and the drive for the sea started out as the Allies and Germans both dug in. It was the start of the trench warfare of the Western Front.

Being a goalkeeper requires a different set of mental attributes to being an outfield play in a football team. Goalkeepers experience extreme pressure and isolation every time they play a game and this is why it is said that goalkeepers need a different personality to outfield players. Their personality isn’t the only difference however, goalkeepers also dress differently to the rest of the time.

When I make a list like this, I should start out by saying that it’s a really hard thing to do. I wasn’t around to see many of the athletes of the past, and the ones who are fresher in our minds will always seem more meaningful.
