How about those San Francisco 49ers? After a disappointing 2008 campaign that showed some promises of hope, it looks like this Niners team is ready to deliver on that hope in 2009.

The 49ers gave the Minnesota Vikings all they could take - it took a Favre miracle pass for the Vikings to win. RB Frank Gore has the potential for another 1,600 yard season and QB Shaun Hill is getting better by the game.

The defense is led by Patrick Willis; the 49ers defense has held its competition to just 26 total points in each of the team’s first two games. He has enough help around him to make it very difficult for teams to get in the end zone.

The Seattle Seahawks aren’t what the use to be, the St. Louis Rams could possibly be the worst team in the NFL and the Arizona Cardinals haven’t been on the same page all season long. The 49ers might not be the front-runners in the NFC, but if they keep moving in the direction Coach Singletary is taking them they will be the favorites one day.

The glory days of the 49ers might be gone but they are in the process of rebuilding another Super Bowl type team. This year might not be their Super Bowl season, in a couple years the 49ers could raise the Vince Lombardi trophy for their 6th time and the teams first since 1995.

RB Frank Gore is one of the best running backs in the NFL. Gores’ best season was in 06′ when Gore started every game, ran for over 1.600 yards and scored 8 touchdowns.

After that win at Arizona and another impressive win in week 2 against the visiting Seattle Seahawks, things are looking up for the San Francisco 49ers, and they’re surprisingly leading the NFC West division after two weeks of football.

The 49ers may not have to worry about the teams in their own division, they will have to worry about the likes of the Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys and other potential NFC contenders.
