Every Red Devils fan dreams of getting some Manchester United football tickets. Since 1910, Old Trafford has been the home of Manchester United and no fan will ever forget their first visit. The stadium (nicknamed “The Theatre of Dreams” by Bobby Charlton) has a capacity of 76,212, which makes it the largest stadium in England after Wembley.
It’s not easy to buy Manchester United football tickets because it is one of the most popular teams in the world and demand for tickets is always greater then supply. By becoming a member of the One United fan club, fans have to opportunity to get tickets for home games by applying through a lottery. Every member applying for a particular game has the same chance as all of the other members. Fans who don’t succeed in getting tickets through the lottery can buy tickets in the secondary market from a ticketing agency or a ticket broker.
So where are the best seats at Old Trafford? That depends on what kind of experience one seeks. Arguably the best atmosphere is in the Stretford End (West Stand), behind one of the goals, where the most passionate fans cheer on their beloved Red Devils. If you are interested in singing and cheering on the team the entire game, then this is the right section for you. The opposite end (East Stand) is a little quieter; it also hosts the visiting fans, so it is less popular among Manchester United fans.
If your preference is to be seated along the side of the pitch, then the North and South Stand are better options. The South Stand is where the coaches and players are located and it is much smaller then the North Stand and provides a more intimate atmosphere. This is also the stand that plays host to many of the VIPs that come to watch the match and the media. The North Stand, on the other hand, stands three tiers tall and can hold about 26,000 spectators. It is much newer and has much newer facilities such as the Red Caf, a Manchester United theme restaurant and bar. The North Stand is also popular but if you are seated on the 3rd level (Section starting with the number 4), you are quite a ways away from the pitch. In addition, getting to the 3rd level requires climbing a good number of stairs until you reach your section.
A tour of the stadium (offered on non-match days only) is educational and visiting the museum provides a nice trip down memory lane that no Red Devil fan should miss.
