This was perhaps the most anticipated game of the NFL football season thus far. The first ever regular season game in the new Cowboys Stadium, a mega dome for America’s football team, and by association, America’s stadium.
With a larger “space ship like” stadium and a party atmosphere comes high expectations for the actual team. Jerry Jones isn’t shy about spending money - hopefully the Cowboys on field achievements can equal that of the new stadium.
A plasma television above the field was bigger than any high definition unit in the history of the world. The picture looked crystal clear, just as clear as the plasma TV set I watched the game on. Too bad it may interfere with punks and kickoffs at times. Not sure who planned that?
The running game of the Cowboys is fantastic, they are averaging around 200 yards per game. If they can keep averaging 200 yards per game remains to be seen - a valuable running game is a quarterback’s best friend.
The Giants were a difficult opponent for the Cowboys, and this game might not be as easy to win. Many experts varied in their predictions for this game, and it was bound to be a close one. Romo vs. Manning, what a great rivalry.
And a close game it was. The game was fought to the very end, with the Giants coming away with a 33-31 victory. The Giants are now 2-0 and the Cowboys 1-1.
While the Cowboys stadium is nice and quite the spectacle, a nice stadium won’t help a team win games - the Cowboys must do that themselves.
The Cowboys have a very good, capable team that can win many games if they play up to their potential. Cowboys need to end their playoff drought - going over 10 years without winning a playoff game for the Dallas Cowboys in unacceptable.
