New England Sports Ventures (NESV) successfully completed their takeover bid of Liverpool Football Club earlier this week. The high profile company, owner of the Boston Red Sox, had faced a long and expensive legal battle with previous owners George Gillette and Tom Hicks to take control of the club. The 300 million sale has caused fans to rejoice as the clubs massive debts have been written off.

After England left these shores for South Africa a couple of weeks ago, there was much anticipation that finally, the team might possibly bring the trophy home. Yet, that dream was destroyed in no uncertain terms by the old enemy Germany in Bloemfontein as England crashed out of the competition losing 4-1. How did such an experienced team who qualified so effortlessly fail to perform? Not surprisingly, the English media has produced no lack of scape goats and causes for what was England’s heaviest defeat at a World Cup. There has been ample talk about the Italian manager, formations and more but the issues are a lot more serious.

There are many different types of injuries and conditions that can result from the strenuous physical activity experienced during soccer training. Probably the most common issues is shin splints. People who experience shin splints experience pain in the region of the lower limb that starts at the knee and extends down to the top from the foot area. This is often immense and is described as a “burning” pain. The muscles that are in this area of the leg, as well as the tendons, become damaged or overworked and cause this that is experienced. In this article, I’ll describe effective ways to handle shin splints during soccer training.

The Euro 2012 Finals will be co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine. The tournament is the final one to be 16 teams as the subsequent one in 2016 will increase to 24 teams. Poland and Ukraine defeated Italy and Croatia/Hungary for the right to host the tournament.
